Shaun King hired as assistant at IMG

Former Gibbs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Shaun King was hired as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at IMG Academy.

King, who was an assistant at USF for four years (2016-19), announced his new job on social media.

As a quarterback, King led the Gladiators to the playoffs and went on to help Tulane go undefeated (12-0) during the 1998 season. He was drafted in the second round by the Buccaneers the following year and spent seven years in the NFL.

After King’s playing days were over, he got into coaching, first as an assistant at Gibbs before moving on to USF. In 2017, King was named the American Athletic Conference recruiter of the year by 247 Sports.

At IMG, King joins a powerhouse program that is ranked tops in the nation by MaxPreps.
