There were three options presented.

Option 1

Start date for practices: Aug. 24

Start date for regular season: Sept. 11

State series: All teams that declare for the state series would be included in the playoffs starting on Nov. 13.

Option 2

Start date for practices: After August

Start date for regular season: Two weeks after first practice date

State series: Nov. 30-Dec. 12

Option 3

Start date for practices: Three tier system for all high school sports with football among those starting Nov. 30

Start date for regular season: Three tier system for all high school sports with football starting Dec. 14.

State series: Current format with adjustments for new dates.

The top two were option 3 (eight votes/preferences) and option 1 (seven votes/preferences), though there is no clear direction — yet, at least according to FloridaHSFootball.com.

The FHSAA board of directors will meet Aug. 14 in Gainesville to discuss those options.
