Outlook
This is a state title contending team. The Warriors have plenty of returners from last year’s team that reached the region semifinals. Four seniors — Liv Mogridge (170 kills, 54 blocks last season), Mandy Knipp (318 assists), Madi Espy (301 digs).and Zoe Chin (122 kills, 84 digs) — make up a solid core of veterans. Kennedy Coakley (89 kills, 86 digs) also will be a solid contributor. This past weekend, Steinbrenner showed what it can do, beating five quality opponents to take home the team title at the Nova Southeastern Shark Invitational. The Warriors are playing in two other tournaments to help prepare for a playoff run. Getting through the district (Class 7A-7) and the region will be tough considering defending state semifinalist Plant still stands in the way.
