Every spring Jesuit holds a signing ceremony. Golfers. Tennis players. Baseball stars. Football standouts. Nearly every sport is represented as athletes put on ball caps before signing their national letters of intent to make their college decisions official.
On Wednesday, the Tigers continued their annual tradition. Only this one was held in a non-traditional setting.
The college-bound athletes remained at home. One-by-one, their faces popped up on a computer screen. The only way to watch was via Zoom.
This virtual event took place because the school is shut down the rest of the month to prevent the spread of coronavirus. There were six signees:
Cade Freeman, football, Wabash College
Greg Gyenis, football, Tennessee-Martin:
Nick Haggar, tennis, Loyola Maryland:
A.J. Karabenick, baseball, Wesleyan University:
Jalen Niles, baseball, Florida A&M
Jimmy Paradise, golf, Connecticut
