Former Blake star Isaiah Rodgers picked by Colts

Massachusetts defensive back Isaiah Rodgers, who starred at Blake, was taken in the sixth round by the Indianapolis Colts.

Rodgers was selected with 211th overall pick, which the Colts received from the Jets after trading Quincy Wilson on Saturday.

In his four years with the Minuteman, Rodgers did more than just excel in the secondary. His 53 kickoff returns and 1,295 yards both were tops among all Division I-A players in 2019. He also finished with 42 tackles and four interceptions as a senior.

Those numbers helped him gain acclaim. Rodgers was listed as a second-team selection as a cornerback and kick returner on Phil Steele’s All-Independent team.

At Blake, Rodgers stood out on both sides of the ball with 10 touchdown receptions and four interceptions as a senior.
