Tampa Catholic’s DD Snyder commits to Illinois

Tampa Catholic safety DD Snyder announced his commitment to Illinois on Monday.

Snyder, a three-star prospect, made the decision during a live broadcast on Instagram. He picked the Illini over offers from 21 other schools, including Duke, Indiana, UCF and USF.

This is the second bay area player to commit to Illinois within the past month. East Lake linebacker Dylan Rosiek made his decision three weeks ago.

As a junior, Snyder had 42 tackles and two interceptions to help the Crusaders reach the region finals. He becomes the fourth Tampa Catholic player from the Class of 2021 to make his college commitment, joining offensive linemen Cole Essek (Appalachian State) and Jaden and Jordan Sandlin (Florida Atlantic).
