NFL training camps have already started under a new set of guidelines to deal with COVID-19.
Fans cannot watch practices and there will be no preseason games.
All 32 clubs have significantly reduced rosters, too.
Each team was allowed to start training camp last week with a traditional 90-man roster. But any team still at that number would have to split into groups for all activities, with only half the players allowed in a team’s facility at a time.
Any team with the larger group of players could not bring them all into its building together until Aug. 17, the first day of full-pads practice and when all teams must have no more than 80 players.
NFL training camp key dates

- Veteran players report: July 28
- Full-contact practices start: Aug. 17
There are plenty of locals on rosters. But some, particularly undrafted free agents, might have more difficulty securing a spot with the roster limitations and no preseason contests to show what they can do in game situations.
