Pasco County to start practices for fall sports on Monday

Pasco County administrators announced Wednesday that practices in fall sports will start on Monday.

Pasco initially planned to start practices on Sept. 7 in order to have more data on COVID-19 outbreaks once classes started on Monday.

The date was moved up to coincide with Hillsborough and Pinellas counties which also are starting on Monday. It also allows those counties to have their schedules align in fall sports.

In Pasco, the first regular dates or games or meets in bowling, cross country, golf, swimming and diving and volleyball will be Sept. 8. The first regular season football games are on Sept. 11.
