Several locals selected to AVCA, UA All-America volleyball lists

Tampa Bay area players were well-represented on a pair of volleyball watchlists that came out this week. 

There were 12 locals who made the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) phenom list for underclassmen.

Those selected to either list who have yet to commit to a college are invited to the Phenom College Preparatory Program, held in conjunction with the Division I-A National Championship and AVCA Convention in Omaha, Neb. on Dec. 17-18. 

In the past eight years, 80 percent of the participants in the program went on to play volleyball in college. Invitations are emailed in October and require registration.
