Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas revise attendance policies for fall sports

Three counties — Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas — revised their policies for fans attending athletic events.

Instead of allowing each participant (athlete, band member, cheerleader) to have four fans in attendance, Hillsborough County has decided to go with set numbers: 400 fans at volleyball matches and 1,500 fans at football games.

The county still is emphasizing social distancing, face coverings and the use of disinfectants.Tickets will be sold online through the school’s website and proof will be required at the gate in a digital form.

In Pasco County, fans can now remove their masks when seated. Those attending will still be required to wear masks at all other times. The change is only for outdoor events. All athletic events held inside will still require masks to be worn at all times.

Pinellas County has increased fan capacity from 25 percent to 35 percent for volleyball matches and football games. Fans must still wear masks. Tickets will still be sold online at GoFan.com
