Time to vote: Volleyball player of the week

Here are the nominees for the volleyball player of the week. Voting lasts through Monday.

MH Olivia Aniol, Jr., East Lake: Had 29 digs, 17 kills and 6 blocks to lead the Eagles to the Class 6A, District 7 title. 

S Bailey Blanton, Jr., Plant City: Had 14 assists and three blocked shots to help the Raiders win the Class 6A, District 10 match over Armwood. It is Plant City’s first district title since 1980. 

S Victoria Hensley, Jr., Clearwater Central Catholic: Directed the offense to a district title by finishing with a combined 100 assists, 36 digs, 12 kills and 6 blocks in the Class 3A, District 6 semifinal match against Calvary Christian and the final against Northside Christian.

Steinbrenner junior varsity team: With the varsity team having to quarantine because of a positive COVID case, the junior varsity team filled in and won the Class 7A, District 12 title, beating Palm Harbor University in five sets in the championship match. 

OH Kylie Stroehlein, Sr., Sickles: Finished with a combined 33 kills and 22 digs in two matches at the Class 7A, District 14 tournament. 

MB/OH Makayla Way, So., Fivay: Had 27 kills, 10 digs, 3 blocks and 3 aces in the Class 5A, District 7 title match win over Lecanto.
