Weeki Wachee 3, Wesley Chapel 2

The Hornets kept their perfect season intact with a 25-16, 17-25, 25-21, 19-25, 15-10 win. It was the first time this season Weeki Wachee had a match go five sets.

Four players reached double figures in kills for the Hornets, led by Grace Colleran, who had 14. Victoria Gray led in digs with 32 and Nicla Gentile had a team-high 49 assists.

By surviving that challenge, Weeki Wachee (19-0) was able to advance to the region finals for the first time since 2016. The Hornets will travel to face defending state semifinalist Academy of the Holy Names on Saturday.

Academy of the Holy Names 3, LaBelle 0

The Jaguars are one step closer to getting back to the state semifinals after winning 25-19, 25-14, 25-14.

Kinsley Warbritton had 10 kills and 10 digs and Janessa Bailey had 23 assists to lead Academy of the Holy Names.

At one point, the Jaguars were 12-8 this season due in large part to playing a challenging schedule. Those tough matches are now paying off. Academy of the Holy Names has won five straight, all via sweeps.

On Saturday, the Jaguars host Weeki Wachee in the region final.
