Time to vote: Defensive player of the week

Here are the nominees for the defensive player of the week. Voting lasts through Wednesday.

LB Troy Bowles, So., Jesuit: Had eight tackles, recorded an interception and scored on a blocked punt in the Tigers’ big win over rival Tampa Catholic. 

LB Wa’Myron Howard, Sr., Bloomingdale: Recorded eight tackles, three for loss, and had a fumble recovery in a win over Newsome. 

WR/DB Antonio Jamison, Sr., Chamberlain: Had a touchdown reception and returned an interception and a kickoff for scores in a win over East Bay. 

Leto’s defense: The Falcons not only won a game on the field for the first time since 2014 but the defense also recorded the program’s first shutout in well over a decade. 

DL Justice Williams, Sr., Seffner Christian: Recorded five tackles, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and one that he recovered and returned for a touchdown in a win over Carrollwood Day.
