Bishop McLaughlin’s Audrey Koenig finishes second in voting for Miss Volleyball

Bishop McLaughlin’s Audrey Koenig, who was named the Florida Dairy Farmers Class 3A state player of the year, finished second in the voting for Miss Volleyball.

Koening had four first-place votes and finished with 100 points, eight behind Fort Myers’ Paris Thompson, who won the award as the state’s top overall player. The voting was done by a statewide panel of volleyball coaches and media representatives.

As a senior, Koenig led the Hurricanes to the state semifinals and finished the season with 394 kills, 207 digs and a .401 hitting percentage. The Florida State signee was ranked as one of the state’s top two recruits in the 2021 class and was named an Under Armour honorable mention selection.
