Fivay’s Matt Durchik resigned as football coach for personal reasons. The move was announced on social media Monday afternoon. 

Fivay High School Athletics wishes to announce that Head Football Coach Matt Durchik has informed us that he is resigning from his role as Head Football Coach for personal reasons. Fivay High School is extremely grateful for Coach Durchik’s efforts these past eleven years.

Durchik was 23-29 in five seasons. He was promoted from assistant to coach midway through the 2015 season. 

After some struggles early in Durchik’s tenure, the Falcons started to turn things around, going 13-6 in the last two seasons. It was the best two-season mark in school history. 

The job was posted on the Pasco County Schools website on Monday. A search to replace Durchik will start soon.
