Boys basketball
Nature Coast (10-5) at Springstead (10-2), 7:30
The Sharks have been the dominant program in Hernando County for the past decade but they now have some competition. Last week, Nature Coast lost to Central. Tonight, the Sharks face another tough challenge against the Eagles, which are off to a solid start.
Boys soccer
Steinbrenner (11-4) at Plant (9-2-1), 7
Both teams are ranked among the top 20 in the state in Class 7A by MaxPreps and are each trying to get the top seed in the district (7A-7).
Wiregrass Ranch (12-3-1) at Sunlake (8-0-1), 7:30
The Seahawks enter with the better, but they have struggled against their rival. The last time Sunlake beat the Bulls was during the 2012-13 season.
Girls basketball
Calvary Christian (8-2) at Academy of the Holy Names (10-6), 6
The Warriors, who are undefeated on the road (5-0), face their toughest away games of the season against the Jaguars.
Durant (11-2) at Wharton (12-3), 7
The Wildcats, ranked 12th in the state in Class 7A by MaxPreps, put their undefeated record at home (6-0) on the line against the Cougars.
