This is a rematch from last week’s thriller that the Eagles won on a walk-off grand slam from Dominic Merrer.
Softball
Cypress Creek (7-1) at Berkeley Prep (7-1), 6
The Buccaneers, ranked third in Class 3A by MaxPreps, continue their challenging week with a matchup against the Coyotes, who have allowed just five runs all season.
Steinbrenner (10-1) at Gaither (5-2), 7
After winning the Lady Canes Spring Classic, the Warriors rocketed up the rankings. They are now second in 7A, third overall in the state and seventh nationally according to MaxPreps. They face a tough test against the Cowboys, who have won five straight after an 0-2 start.
Plant (5-3) at Robinson (4-2), 7
This one could end being a slugfest. The host Knights are averaging more than 10 runs per game. The Panthers are not far behind, averaging nearly seven runs per game.
River Ridge (5-1) at Land O’ Lakes (7-1), 7:30
The rivals are each ranked among the top 10 in their respective classifications by MaxPreps (the Royal Knights are No. 10 in 5A and the Gators are No. 6 in 6A).
