Time to vote: Softball player of the week

Here are the nominees for the softball player of the week. Voting lasts through Wednesday. 

SS Brooke Blankenship, Sr., River Ridge: Went a combined 11-for-15 with four doubles, two homers and seven RBIs to help the Royal Knights go 5-1 for the week and finish second at the Leopard Slam.  

3B/P/SS DaNia Brooks, So., Sickles: In six games, Brooks was a combined 12-for-20 with two doubles and three RBIs at the plate. She also was 2-0 on the mound, allowing a combined seven hits and just two earned runs while striking out 20 to help the Gryphons stay undefeated and take home the Leopard Slam title. 

OF Emily Chiarella, Jr., Steinbrenner: Went a combined 14-for-23 with seven RBIs , two doubles, a triple and a homer to lead the Warriors to a 6-0 mark for the week. 

SS/INF/OF Nehanda Lewis, Jr., Land O’ Lakes: Led the Gators to a 4-0 record at the Doc4Life tournament by going a combined 8-for-11 with eight RBIs, two doubles, two triples and two home runs. One of her homers came in the seventh inning to beat Wakulla.  

INF/OF/P Belle Sardja, Sr., Academy of the Holy Names: Finished a combined 5-for-9 with a homer and four RBIs to help the Jaguars win all three of their games last week. 

P/2B/3B Morgen Talley, 8th, Canterbury: Had a 3-for-3 performance against Lake Wales and hit two homers this past weekend to help the Crusaders go 3-1 at Bartow’s Tournament of Champions.
