Jesuit’s Tom Crook named Mr. Wrestling

Jesuit’s Tom Crook, who capped off an undefeated season with the state title in the 138-pound weight class, was named Mr. Wrestling, the award given by the Florida Dairy Farmers to the top overall wrestler in the state.

Crook, ranked fifth nationally in his weight class by FloWrestling, beat out Class 3A wrestler of the year Tylynn Lukens of Bradenton Manatee and Class 1A wrestler of the year Lance Schyck of Lemon Bay for the top honor.

Last month, Crook won his third straight state championship at the 2A meet, finishing the season with a 45-0 record and pushing his career record to 161-0. He became the first wrestler in school history to win three state titles. .
