Flag football: Class 1A state final preview

Saturday’s flag football state finals

All games are at Mandarin High in Jacksonville.  Admission is $10 in advance, $13 on the day of the event. Parking is included in the ticket price. 

Class 1A

Robinson (21-0) vs. Florida A&M (12-3), 3

How they got here: Robinson d. Bradenton Southeast 52-0, d. Lecanto 34-0, d. Miami Edison 27-8. Florida A&M d. Choctawhatchee 19-13, d. Middleburg 31-13, d. Jensen Beach 20-12. 

Outlook: The Knights, ranked No. 1 overall in the state by floridahsfootball.com, are on the verge of winning their sixth state title, including the past five in their classification (the 2020 season was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic). Robinson beat Miami Edison 27-8 in Friday’s state semifinals to get back to the championship game. It was the first time the Knights allowed an opponent to score in the past four games. The Baby Rattlers enter the final on a five-game win streak,
