The PTP flag football players of the week

The fans’ pick

LB N’Dea Fitzgerald, Sr., Robinson

Throughout the season, N’Dea Fitzgerald was a solid contributor on offense with more than 300 yards as a receiver.

But the senior made her biggest impact on defense.

Fitzgerald had 35 flag pulls (tackles) entering the postseason. She added to that total by finishing with eight flag pulls in a shutout over Bradenton Southeast in the Class 1A region semifinals.

That got the attention of fans. Fitzgerald received more than 67 percent of the votes (1,676) to beat out Newsome’s Madison Ludwig, who had 22 percent (551 votes).

The PTP pick

LB Madison Ludwig, Jr., Newsome: Recorded 11 tackles and knocked down three passes in the Wolves’ 27-0 victory over two-time defending state champion Alonso in the Class 2A region semifinals.
