Outlook

Since taking over in 2018, Reggie Crume has guided the Warriors to three straight playoff appearances, the longest streak in school history. To continue its run, Calvary Christian has to replace quite a bit of production on offense. The Warriors lost their top two leading rushers and three of their top four leading receivers. Still, the offense should be in solid shape with the return of quarterback Brandon Marcsisin (featured photo above courtesy of Susan Jones), who threw for 1,048 yards and nine touchdowns last season. He will have plenty of time to throw thanks to a talented offensive line that includes Preston Cushman, a Mississippi commit who is one of the best lineman in the area — and nation. The secondary will be a defensive strength. The leader of that group is Jaeden Atkins, who had 77 tackles and a team-leading three interceptions last season. Another positive factor, according to Crume, is the selflessness of this team. “We have guys who truly care for one another,” he said.
