Outlook

The Marauders had their three-year streak of reaching the state semifinals snapped last season. That has Clearwater Central Catholic motivated to return to state title contention. Much like the 2019 team, the last one to make the state semifinals, the Marauders will rely on a beefy — and experienced — offensive line. Bruno Boyens, Shane Elam, Kevin Terry and Cole Thomas all return and will team with TJ Demas, who transferred from Calvary Christian. Those veterans will clear holes for a strong running game. In the spring, the Marauders averaged more than eight yards per carry against Cambridge Christian. The biggest benefactor should be Lenwood Sapp, who had 260 yards and three touchdowns as a sophomore last season. The line also will provide plenty of protection for quarterback Bryson Martin, who is expected to have a breakout season after emerging as the starter last year. The defense will be led by linebacker Melvin Jordan, an Oregon State commit who returns to CCC after the past two seasons at IMG and Calvary Christian.
