Outlook

The Crusaders, who beat Lakewood in double overtime last year to reach the region final, moved down from Class 4A to 3A. That was not the only change in the offseason. Three key starters — quarterback Xavione Washington, running back Tone Hill and defensive back Adrian Ramsey — transferred to other schools. Luke Sather, Trey Hedden and Luke Gisclair are all competing to be the starting quarterback. That decision likely will not be decided until the season starts. The strength on offense is up front. The line includes Chris Williams, a Florida A&M commit, and Eddy Pierre-Louis, who already has 16 offers as a sophomore. On defense, the defense will rely on the play of its linebackers, led by Lewis Carter, a four-star recruit, and Gavin Paul, who had 64 tackles last season.
