Outlook

The Marauders went through a coaching change this offseason. They promoted junior varsity coach Wendy Hensley to take over the varsity program. She replaces Stephen Shepherd, who left after 11 seasons to become the coach at Palm Harbor University. Hensley, a former player at Kentucky Wesleyan who coached at Mercy Academy in Louisville from 2006-17, inherits a skilled squad, led by her daughter, Victoria Hensley, a Wofford commit who was the Prime Time Preps’ Pinellas County player of the year last season. The younger Hensley had 756 assists while helping CCC win its district. She can get the ball to plenty of playmakers, including Brooke Green, who had 194 kills and 53 kills last season. To prepare for the postseason, the Marauders are traveling to play in three tournaments, which makes up the bulk of their regular season matches.
