Outlook
The Terriers had a lot of momentum going into this season. They won straight games losing 26-20 to Palmetto in the region final last year. Nearly everyone is back from that team. Hillsborough has 18 returning starters, including quarterback Caleb Pierce and running backs Jordaan Bailey (Pittsburgh) and Joseph Sipp Jr. (Colorado State) who have already committed to colleges. Better still, the Terriers picked up some transfers that will help fill in some holes. There is so much depth, only a handful of players might see action on both sides of the ball. Last week, Hillsborough got off to a solid start, jumping out to a 41-3 halftime lead and cruising to a 53-17 victory over Steinbrenner. The early season schedule is tough with matchups against Armwood and Tampa Bay Tech looming. Those are to prepare for the one that really matters, a September 17 showdown with Jesuit for what should decide the 6A, District 10 title.
