Ella Beckett, Jr., Keswick Christian

A runner in both cross country and track, Ella Beckett made steady progress as a distance specialist. 

The payoff has come in the first two weeks of the season. 

At the Falcon Invitational, Beckett finished second with a time of 22 minutes, 10.38 seconds, tops among area runners. 

Fans took notice. Beckett received 61 percent of the votes (110) to beat out Calvary Christian’s Hailey Howard, who 33 percent (59 votes). 

By winning, the Crusader junior automatically moves on to become one of the six nominees for the PDQ girls athlete of the week.
