Volleyball player of the week

Published

on

OH/OPP Jordan Bunce, Jr., St. Petersburg

Since arriving at St. Petersburg as a freshman two years ago, Jordan Bunce immediately proved she belonged in the lineup.

Now a three-year starter, Bunce has become the go-to player on offense for the Green Devils, especially when it comes to kills.

She leads the team in that category with 74 — 13 more than anyone else on the roster. Bunce also has helped the Green Devils overcome the loss of several starters to begin this season with an 8-2 record.

Last week, Bunce had a combined 27 kills and 10 service aces in wins over Lakewood, Gibbs and Osceola

Fans were impressed. Bunce received more than 46 percent of the votes (1,038) in the volleyball player of the week poll to beat Academy of the Holy Names’ Kinsley Warbritton, who had 31 percent (694 votes).
