Volleyball: Tampa Bay 25 (week 4)

Since losing to Plant in the season opener, Berkeley Prep has been on a tear. The Buccaneers have won 14 of their past 15 matches, the lone loss coming against St. Pius X Catholic, the No. 2 overall team in Georgia according to Georgia. Included in Berkeley Prep’s recent surge are wins against Bishop McLaughlin, Tampa Prep, Plant and Calvary Christian. The last two victories came in the semifinals and the final secured the team title for the Buccaneers’ at their Premier tournament. It also helped  Berkeley Prep rocket up the rankings. The Buccaneers currently are ranked sixth in the nation by MaxPreps, highest among any area team. So it’s no wonder they vault to No. 1 in the top 25 area rankings, too.
