The Pasco County Volleyball Player of the Week

OH/DS/S Emma Hatcher, Sr., Land O’ Lakes

Since last season, Emma Hatcher has become one of the Gators’ top offensive threats.

As a junior, Hatcher recorded 112 digs. She has already eclipsed that total this season with 136 kills. Spikes are not the only area she excels at on the court.

Hatcher has racked up an impressive amount of digs, too.

After finishing last season with 135 digs, Hatcher has improved in that category with 152 so far this year.

The stats are not the only thing that keep piling up.

So, too, are the wins.

Land O’ Lakes has already set the school record for wins this season (22) and enters this week’s Class 6A, District 5 tournament as the top seed.

Hatcher is a big reason for their success. In the Gators’ regular season finale, she had 10 kills and 10 digs in a win over Tampa Catholic.

Fans took notice. Hatcher received 45 percent of the votes (5,232) in the Pasco County volleyball player of the week poll to beat out Wesley Chapel’s Jenna Ly, who had 44 percent (5,155 votes).
