Things to know

Streaking

The Tigers currently have the area’s longest regular season win streak at 26, which dates back to the 2019 season. The last three have come via shutouts, including last week’s 56-0 victory over King. There is another streak Jesuit is intent on keeping intact in its annual clash with Tampa Catholic. The Tigers have won 21 straight in the series. Another win will also wrap up Jesuit’s second straight undefeated regular season.

Star gazing

There will be plenty of college prospects on the field. Jesuit has a pair of Division I-A receivers — Junior Vandeross (Toledo) and Jaydn Girard (Wake Forest). Tigers linebacker Troy Bowles, the son of Buccaneers defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, is a four-star prospect in the Class of 2023 and has 33 offers, including ones from Ohio State, Georgia and Oregon. And that is just naming a few from Jesuit’s loaded lineup. Tampa Catholic’s top recruit is Lewis Carter, a four-star linebacker in the Class of 2023 who has 27 offers, including Georgia and Ohio State.
