2021 FHSAA Volleyball State Championships 7A FHSAA Girls Volleyball

The area matchup

Plant (23-5) at Venice (22-7), 2

Both teams are ranked among the top three in the class (the Panthers are No. 1 and the Indians are No. 3), as well as the top 12 overall in the state by MaxPreps. Plant is in the region final for the fourth straight season. Venice is back in the region final after a one-year absence.

The Wildcats’ dream season continues. They are in the region finals for the first time in school history. To continue its playoff run, Wesley Chapel has to get past a formidable opponent. The Knights, who have won three state titles since 2012, are trying to reach the state semifinals for the fourth straight season.

The area matchup

Lemon Bay (26-2) at Academy of the Holy Names (20-8), 2

The two-time defending state semifinalist Jaguars are looking to take the next step and get to the championship match for the first time since 1997. Academy of the Holy Names is two matches away from making that happen. The first step is getting past the Manta Rays, who have won six straight, all via sweeps, to get to the region final for the first time since 2007.
