The Pinellas County Football Player of the Week – Nov. 1-5

QB Drew Bunn, Jr., Shorecrest

A three-year member of varsity, Drew Bunn took full control of Shorecrest’s offense this season.

The junior has thrown for 1,371 yards and 22 touchdowns, more than doubling his total in those two categories from his previous two seasons combined.

The numbers Bunn has compiled in the passing game have helped the Chargers win eight straight games and reach the Sunshine State Athletic Conference’s Class 4A state championship game in eight-man football.

Two weeks ago, Bunn threw for 272 yards and four touchdowns in the opening round of the playoffs.

Fans were impressed. Bunn received 64percent of the votes (747) in the Pinellas County football player of the week poll to beat out Northside Christian’s Will Griffin, who had 21 percent (242 votes).
