Playoff experience

Jesuit, the top seed in Class 6A, Region 3, is making its ninth straight playoff appearance and is trying to get to the state semifinals for the fourth straight season. The Tigers went undefeated in the regular season for the second year in a row. Boca Ciega, the No. 8 seed, has been to the playoffs each of the past three seasons but is trying to win its first playoff game since 2004. The Pirates also are looking to rebound after losing their final two games of the regular season. 

Try, try again

The FNF Campus Tour, presented by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, initially was going to make its final stop of the season last week at Jesuit for the annual clash with Tampa Catholic. But  heavy rain and wind forced the stop to be postponed until this week.

The Friday Night Football Campus Tour, presented by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is a free, interactive event that includes games and prizes for all fans, including the opportunity to get Tampa Bay Buccaneers swag. A 15-foot-tall replica of the NFL’s Super Bowl trophy is on display at each stop.. Buccaneers cheerleaders and Captain Fear, the Bucs’ mascot, also will be in attendance.
