The Indians, the top in the region (8A-3), jumped out to a 49-0 lead at the half and cruised to their third straight win. Venice has scored 40 or more points in nine of its 10 wins this season.

Sarasota Riverview 31, Steinbrenner 7

The Warriors stayed within striking distance early on and trailed 14-7 at the half. After that, the Rams pulled away, scoring 17 straight in the second half.

QB Ty Robinson, So., Steinbrenner: Threw for 226 yards and a touchdown in a loss to Sarasota Riverview.

RB Kirby Vorhees, Jr., Steinbrenner: Accounted for 125 yards of offense (87 rushing, 38 receiving) in a loss to Sarasota Riverview.

West Orange 55, Durant 6

The Cougars, who were making their first playoff appearance since 2016, committed four turnovers (three lost fumbles and an interception). West Orange took advantage and built a 42-6 lead early in the third quarter en route to the win.

Kissimmee Osceola 28, Newsome 21

In a rematch from last year’s region final, the Wolves were unable to exact revenge. Newsome had a 21-13 lead going into the fourth quarter, then allowed the Kowboys to score 15 unanswered points. It was the first time the Wolves lost at home this season.
