Plant 3, Miami Doral Academy 0

The Panthers, who were in the state semifinals for the fourth straight season, ended years of frustration by making it to the title match for the first time since 2018. They did it in dominant fashion, sweeping the Firebirds (25-15, 25-20, 25-23). Since losing a five-set thriller to rival Steinbrenner in the district final, Plant has been dominant, losing just one set in each of its four playoff wins. Now, the Panthers have a chance to win their first state title since 2010. 

Prime time performers

OH Maggie Dostic, Fr., Plant: Led the Panthers with 18 kills, 12 digs and four service aces in a win over Doral Academy. 

OH Lily Frierson, Sr., Plant: Recorded 15 digs and 10 kills in a win over Doral Academy. 

L Sophia Kotsovolos, Sr., Plant: Ended up with 23 digs in a win over Doral Academy. 

L/DS Bella Lee, So., Plant: Had 12 digs and three service aces in a win over Doral Academy. 

S Jennifer Rayburn, Jr., Plant: Finished with 34 assists and five digs in a win over Doral Academy.

Alachua Santa Fe 3, Academy of the Holy Names 0

The Jaguars, who were in the state semifinals for the third straight season.had a tough matchup. Santa Fe is ranked No. 1 in the class, No. 2 overall in the state and No. 4 nationally by MaxPreps. The Raiders won via sweep (25-21, 25-13, 26-24) to reach the title match for the first time since 2018.

Calvary Christian 3, Ocala Trinity Catholic 2

The Warriors had already got through one of the toughest brackets in the state, defeating Clearwater Central Catholic, Bishop McLaughlin and Tampa Prep in the first three rounds to reach the state semifinals for the first time. Those tough matches paid off as Calvary Christian was able to overcome a 2-1 deficit against defending state champion Ocala Trinity Catholic to win the last three sets and the match (25-18, 20-25, 21-25, 25-16, 15-10) to make the state final.

L/DS Ava Bonin, So., Calvary Christian: Finished with a team-high 25 digs in a win over Ocala Trinity Catholic. 

OH/DS Lauren Cairo, Jr., Calvary Christian: Recorded 15 digs, 11 digs, three blocks and two service aces in a win over Ocala Trinity Catholic. 

OPP/Ds Kendall McCain, Sr., Calvary Christian: Had 14 digs, eight kills and six service aces in a win over Ocala Trinity Catholic. 

S Taylor Parks, So., Calvary Christian: Led the Warriors with 55 assists and 12 digs in a win over Ocala Trinity Catholic. 

OH Noelle Walsh, Sr., Calvary Christian: Finished with 19 kills and 15 digs in a win over Ocala Trinity Catholic.
