The Pasco County Football Player of the Week – Nov. 1-5

QB Hunter Young, Sr., Hudson

Two weeks ago, Hunter Young threw for 107 yards in the regular season finale against Fivay.

Though the total was his lowest of the season, it was significant.

Young finished the regular season with 2,379 yards to set the regular season Pasco County record, surpassing the previous mark of 2,345 set by James Pensyl Land O’ Lakes in 2013.

Last week, Young threw for 188 yards in a Class 5A region quarterfinal loss to Clearwater. He finished the season with 2,567 yards, the fourth-best season total in county history counting playoffs.

Fans were impressed. Young received 48 percent of the votes (788) in the Pasco County football player of the week poll, beating out Mitchell’s Dryak Simmons, who had 44 percent (731 votes).
