The Buccaneers, the top seed in the region (3A-3), remained undefeated by dominating their playoff opener. Berkeley Prep posted its fifth shutout of the season. That sets up a rematch with Clearwater Central Catholic in the region final.

WR/LB Drew Canody, Sr., Berkeley Prep: Not only did Canody run down a receiver on a touchdown-saving tackle, but he also forced a turnover.
RB Travis Bates, Sr., Berkeley Prep: Ran for touchdowns in a win over Fort Myers Bishop Verot.
ATH Xavier Townsend, Sr., Berkeley Prep: Scored two touchdowns on the ground, including one for 97 yards, in a win over Fort Myers Bishop Verot.
Clearwater Central Catholic 31, Tampa Catholic 7
For the second this season, the Marauders beat one their fiercest rivals. Much like the first meeting, Clearwater Central Catholic pulled away in the second and third quarter by relying on the ground game and getting plays in the kicking game. The win was the Marauders’ fourth straight.

WR Nate Johnson, Jr., Clearwater Central Catholic: Scored the Marauders first touchdown off a screen pass in the second quarter to tie the game.
ATH Jershaun Newton, Fr., Clearwater Central Catholic: Scored two rushing touchdowns in a win over Tampa Catholic.
