The Girls Basketball Player of the Week — Nov. 15-18

G Paige Atwater, So., Weeki Wachee

In the season opener, Paige Atwater decided the best way to score was from long range.

So the sophomore guard stepped back and kept firing away.

She hit one 3-pointer. Then another.

They kept falling, so much so Atwater ended up setting a school record by making seven 3-pointers in a win over Tarpon Springs. She finished with 25 points and added five steals.

Fans were impressed. Atwater received 75 percent of the votes (932) for the girls basketball player of the week poll from Nov. 15-18. She beat out St. Petersburg’s Ava Stoller, who had 17 percent (205 votes).
