Boys basketball

Land O’ Lakes (3-1) at Fivay (3-2), 7:30 

The Gators have won their past two by 29 or more points. The host Falcons had their three-game win streak snapped with a loss to Wesley Chapel.

Steinbrenner (4-1-1) at Plant (7-1), 6

The Panthers’ perfect start ended with a loss to Jesuit last week. They will try to bounce back against the Warriors, whose only loss was by a goal against Tampa Catholic (3-2). 

Jesuit (6-0) at Tampa Prep (5-0), 7

It doesn’t get any better than this. Both teams are ranked among the top three in the nation (The Tigers are No. 3 and the Terrapins are No. 1). Scoring could be difficult. Each team has allowed just two goals so far this season. 

Girls basketball

Durant (4-0) at Bloomingdale (6-0), 7:30

Great early season matchups between a pair undefeated teams in Hillsborough County. The Bulls have scored more than 60 points in five of their six wins. The Cougars have allowed 30 points or less in three of their four victories.

The Panthers suffered their first loss of the season last week. To rebound, they have get past the undefeated Warriors, who have outscored opponents by a combined 36-2.
