Here are the nominees for the Pasco County football defensive player of the year. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Thursday.
DL Tyler Geary, Sr., Mitchell: Finished with 60 tackles and a school-record 13 sacks to help the Mustangs go 8-3 this season.
LB Nate Kidd, Sr., Wiregrass Ranch: Ended up with 68 tackles, six sacks and three fumble recoveries for the 5-5 Bulls.
LB Josh Poleon, Jr., Wesley Chapel: Recorded 94 tackles, six sacks and four forced fumbles to lead the Wildcats to a 6-4 record this season.
LB Theotis Smith, Sr., Zephyrhills: Finished with 89 tackles, three sacks and seven fumble recoveries for the 9-2 Bulldogs.
DL Zyon Vaughn-Nobles, So., Zephyrhills Christian: Led the Warriors with 96 tackles and 23 ½ sacks and helped them go 9-3 this season.
