OH Emma Buscemi, Sr., Nature Coast

A three-year varsity player, Emma Buscemi was one of three seniors on Nature Coast’s roster this season. 

Because of her experience, the Sharks counted on her to be a leader. 

Buscemi delivered. 

The senior led Hernando County in kills with 266 and had the team lead in blocks with 27. She also ranked among the top five in the county in service aces with 46 and digs with 312. 

Better still, Buscemi helped Nature Coast finish 16-12 and reach the Class 4A region quarterfinals. 

Fans were impressed. Bucsemi had 38 percent of the votes (1,242) in the Hernando County volleyball player of the year poll to beat out Weeki Wachee’s Kristen Pizzano, who had 31 percent (1,039 votes).
