Fan vote: Pasco County volleyball player of the year

OH Chloe Danielson, Jr., Wesley Chapel

Volleyball has been a family affair at Wesley Chapel, especially when it comes to the Danielson sisters.

Last season, Jordan was the star, leading the Wildcats to their first winning season in more than a decade.

This year, it was Chloe’s turn to shine. She took over the leadership role from her sister, who graduated.

Chloe ended up leading the team in kills (375) and blocks (72). More importantly, she guided Wesley Chapel to a 19-5 record and the Class 5A, District 6 title, the Wildcats’ first district championship in volleyball in 17 years.

The success continued in the postseason with Wesley Chapel advancing to the 5A region final.

Fans took notice. Chloe had 55 percent of the votes (1,765) in the Pasco County volleyball player of the year poll to beat out Sunlake’s Kylie Ciani, who had 19 percent (591 votes).
