Player of the year

MB Elizabeth McDonald, Sr., Mitchell

The 6-foot-2 senior used her height to her advantage, becoming a force at the net for Pasco County’s most dominant team. 

Whether it was spiking, serving or blocking, McDonald did her part to help the Mustangs cruise to an undefeated regular season. 

She finished with the team lead in kills (278) and service aces (53). She also had 108 digs and 30 blocks. 

Those numbers were a big reason Mitchell continued its success after the regular season by winning the 6A, District 5 title and reaching the region finals. 

Fan vote player of the year

MH/OH Chloe Danielson, Jr., Wesley Chapel

Taking over as the leader, Danielson thrived in her new role, finishing tops in the county in kills with 378 and helping the Wildcats win a district title and advance to the 5A region final. For more click here. 

Co-Coaches of the year

Lea Weber, Mitchell and Ike Klauka, Land O’ Lakes

The two guided their programs to their best seasons in school history. Weber led the Mustangs to an undefeated regular season and a berth in the Class 6A region finals. Klauka guided the Gators to a school record in wins and a trip to the 6A region semifinals.

OH Kylie Ciani, Sr., Sunlake: Finished with 275 kills, 229 assists, 168 digs and 111 blocks for the Seahawks. 

MH/OH Chloe Danielson, Jr., Wesley Chapel: Finished with 375 kills, 188 digs and 72 blocks for the Wildcats. 

MB Chayla Wade, Sr., Fivay: Ended up with 296 digs and 274 kills for the Falcons. 

OH/RS Maddie Snider, Jr., Bishop McLaughlin: Recorded 363 kills and 195 digs for the Hurricanes. 

OH Izabella Horruitiner, So., Land O’ Lakes: Finished with 244 kills and 201 digs for the Gators. 

OH Caroline Knight, Jr., Mitchell: Ended up with 227 kills and 81 digs for the Mustangs. 

L Catie Grimes, Sr., Land O’ Lakes: Recorded 393 digs and 29 service aces to help the Gators set the school record for wins. 

DS Avery Lewis, Sr., Mitchell: Finished with 397 digs and 50 assists for the Mustangs. 

S Naomi Chinchar, So., Bishop McLaughlin: Recorded 723 assists and 213 digs for the Hurricanes. 

• Elizabeth McDonald is not included on first team because she was the overall player of the year.
