Here are the nominees for the Hernando County softball player of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Friday. 

P/3B/1B Mckenna Carr, Jr., Nature Coast: Tossed eight scoreless innings and had eight strikeouts in wins over Weeki Wachee and Lecanto to start the season. 

P/1B Savannah Ellis, Jr., Hernando: Threw three perfect innings with eight strikeouts in a win over Central and went a combined 4-for-6 with six RBIs and two runs scored in two games. 

SS/P Leanna Freeman, Jr., Springstead: Had two doubles, four RBIs and two runs scored in a win over Citrus to start the season. 

P Madison Hamilton, Sr., Hernando Christian: Went a combined 6-for-10 at the plate with two doubles and five RBIs at the plate and had a combined 13 strikeouts on the mound in three games.
