Pinellas County softball player of the week poll – Feb. 26-21

Here are the nominees for the Pinellas County softball player of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Friday. 

P Mackenzie Bergstrom, Sr., Calvary Christian: Threw a a combined 7 ⅓ scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out three in wins over Sickles and Auburndale to start the season. 

2B Kelsey Cooper, Sr., Clearwater: Was perfect at the plate to start the season, going 5-for-5 with four RBIs and four runs scored to help the Tornadoes go 2-0;

P Mackenzie Duford, Sr., Seminole: Threw a one-hit shutout with nine strikeouts in a season-opening win over Countryside. 

1B Grace McLemore, Sr., Dunedin: Finished the opening week of the season with a .500 average and had a combined four RBIs and four runs scored to help the Falcons start 3-0. 

SS/OF Lashell Roberts, Fr., Northeast: Hit .714 with a combined three homers in the first two games, including two blasts against Largo, to lead the Vikings to a 2-0 start. 

C/3B Jalyn Sharkey, So., East Lake: Hit a game-tying two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh that helped the Eagles beat Osceola in eight innings and had a double and drew three walks against Palm Harbor University. 

3B/OF Gabby Young, Jr., Palm Harbor University: Went a combined 5-for-7 with a double and five runs scored in the first three games of the season.
