Pinellas County softball player of the week poll – Feb. 28-March 5

Here are the nominees for the Pinellas County softball player of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Friday. 

P/OF Sarah Blackett, So., St. Petersburg: Allowed a combined two earned runs and recorded 15 strikeouts in wins over Boca Ciega and Hollins. 

C Brittany Gingrich, So., Seminole: Had two hits, including a double, and had an RBI in a win over Clearwater and drove in a key run to beat rival Osceola. 

P/3B Ashley Morley, Jr., Clearwater Central Catholic: Went a combined 5-for-6 with a double, two RBIs and four runs scored in three games.

3B/P Gianna Ondrey, Jr., Dunedin: Finished with a combined three hits, including two doubles, and had six RBIs in wins over Tarpon Springs and Countryside. 

OF Cassidy Patterson, Sr., East Lake: Ended up going 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in a win over Alonso. 

2B/SS Karhys Pierce, So., Palm Harbor University: Went 4-for-5 with a triple, a homer, two RBIs and three runs scored in a win over Alonso.  

3B/P Morgen Talley, So., Calvary Christian: Powered the Warriors bygoing 3-for-3 with two homers, three RBIs and two runs scored at the plate and recording two strikeouts in a perfect inning on the mound to lead her team to a win over defending state champion Academy of the Holy Names.
