Flag football player of the week – March 7-11

Here are the nominees for the flag football player of the week. Voting lasts until 9 a.m. Thursday. 

QB/LB/S Abby Elwell, So., Lennard: Completed 24 of 39 passes for 300 yards and four touchdowns in a season-opening win over Lakewood Ranch. 

QB/WR/RB Destiny Lockett, Sr., Gibbs: Threw for a combined 332 yards and five touchdowns, ran for 198 and three more scores and had a team-leading 17 tackles in wins over Boca Ciega, Pinellas Park and Classical Prep to start the season. 

WR/QB/DB Kayla Ludwig, Jr., Newsome: Finished with a combined 360 yards of offense (228, 110 receiving, 22 rushing) and eight touchdowns (four passing, three receiving, one rushing) in wins over Wharton and Plant City to start the season. 

WR/DB Katejion Robinson, Jr., Robinson: Had a combined 10 catches for 137 yards and three touchdowns on offense and picked off a pass on defense to help beat Riverview and Wharton to start the season. 

QB/S Mieke Rowe, Jr., Alonso: Ended up with a combined 678 yards passing and 14 touchdowns to lead the Ravens to wins over Tampa Catholic, Sickles and Wharton to start the season. 

QB/FS Layla West, So., Hillsborough: Threw for a combined 326 yards and seven touchdowns, ran for a combined 142 yards and two more scores and picked off a total of two passes in wins over Durant and Gaither.
