The lowdown: Two weeks ago, McClelland went 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored in a win over Weeki Wachee. Fans paid attention. McClelland had 43 percent of the votes (70) in the Hernando County softball player of the week poll to beat out Springstead’s Alexis Adelman, who had 33 percent (53 votes).
