Bloomingdale’s JoJo Raposo named Dottie McGahagin award winner in girls basketball

Bloomingdale’s JoJo Raposo, who led the Bulls to their first state semifinal appearance, was named the winner of the Dottie McGahagin award, given annually to the top senior public school girls basketball player in Hillsborough County.

Raposo averaged a team-high 10.6 points and 2.9 assists per game while helping Bloomingdale finish 25-6 and advance to the Class 6A state semifinals. The Bulls were the lone bay area girls team to reach the final four in any classification this season.

Her playmaking abilities have already been recognized by the county. Earlier this month, she was named the player of the year in the Federal Division of the Western Conference.
